Looking for RoR / HTML5 /JQuery /Backbone/ PhoneGap contract dev

• A little about this job

  Fruhla is building a set of interconnected web apps for managing family life which will run on mobile, tablet, pc and beyond. We have chosen HTML5+JQuery & Backbone (wrapped in Phonegap as needed) served by a cloud-hosted Ruby on Rails stack. We’re ready to roll on development of our first app (and by ready we mean we can hand you a complete mobile Ux design/spec, data model, tech strategy & architecture and point you to our GitHub codebase) and we are looking for devs that are proficient in one or more of the above technologies to help us get to market.

  We are moving very fast with a target of beta by mid-October, so you need to be someone who can work independently, yet knows when to ask for help, and most importantly, you can communicate in spoken & written English and are not afraid to speak up if you see a better way to get something done.

  If this sounds interesting, shoot us your resume and some pointers to web apps you have worked on, your hourly rate and a couple of paragraphs about your background and what you like to work on. If we like what we see, we’ll do a call and discuss a paid task for you to do as a trial and we’ll take it from there. You can work virtually or from our office in Seattle’s U-District as you prefer. UW/SPU students ok, Offshore is ok too.

• What we're looking for

  Responsibilities -Produce well documented, unit tested code. -Think about the long term, but ok writing “good enough” code to meet deadlines -Knows that bad news does not get better with age, and communicates early and often, bringing potential solutions, not just problems. -Comfortable with Agile/Scrum -Speaks up when there’s a better/faster/more appropriate way to get things done.

  Experience with one or more of the following: -Familiarity with Object-Oriented Design/Programming -Can code HTML w/o a WYSIWYG IDE. -Understand benefits and have used HTML5 features -Have written RoR code that’s out there on a production web site. -Used Backbone and HTML5 for web apps that can function offline as needed.

  Education -Undergrad in Comp Sci or equivalent industry experience.
