If you're an experienced HR generalist ready to build and shape an HR function from scratch, this standalone role offers full ownership, flexibility and direct influence across the entire people agenda.

You'll report directly to the Finance Director & Head of Operations, partnering closely with leadership to shape culture, structure, compliance, engagement and long-term people strategy of this growing professional services organisation.

This is a hands-on, commercially focused HR role where your decisions will have real visibility and impact.

Your key focus areas

  • Lead all HR generalist activity
  • Manage ER, recruitment, onboarding, performance & wellbeing
  • Design and implement updated HR policies & frameworks
  • Improve culture, engagement and employer brand initiatives
  • Coach managers & senior leaders
  • Oversee recruitment and support organisational scaling
  • Deliver HR analytics, insights and people reporting
  • Support payroll processes (depending on experience)

What you'll bring

  • Strong SME HR generalist experience OR prior standalone role
  • CIPD Level 5+ (or equivalent experience)
  • Strong UK employment law knowledge
  • Excellent communication & advisory skills
  • Commercial, pragmatic mindset with structured thinking
  • Self-starter who thrives with autonomy
