As a Payroll Manager in London, you'll be the go to contact for all UK Payroll queries. This role is key to keeping the business compliant and running smoothly.

Description

  • Managing and resolving complex and escalated payroll queries.
  • Providing expert guidance on UK payroll legislation, pensions, payroll adjustments, and reconciliations.
  • Conducting payroll audits and reviews to identify discrepancies and ensure data accuracy.
  • Supporting clients through payroll validation activities and pre-payroll checks.
  • Investigating and resolving payroll, pension, and benefits-related issues.
  • Collaborating with internal teams to support compliance initiatives and payroll system enhancements.
  • Developing and maintaining payroll knowledge resources, training materials, and process documentation.
  • Delivering training and guidance to colleagues to improve payroll knowledge and service delivery.
  • Supporting incident management activities and ensuring timely resolution of payroll-related issues.
  • Keeping up to date with changes in payroll legislation and best practice.

Profile

  • A minimum of 2 years' UK payroll experience, with strong technical knowledge of payroll legislation, compliance, pensions, and statutory requirements.
  • Proven experience handling complex payroll queries, reconciliations, audits, and payroll corrections.
  • Strong understanding of payroll journals, manual adjustments, and payroll validation processes.
  • Experience working with payroll software platforms and managing payroll for multiple clients or entities.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate discrepancies and implement effective solutions.
  • Strong customer service and stakeholder management skills, including experience supporting high-value or complex client accounts.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to explain technical payroll matters clearly and professionally.
  • Experience creating training materials, process documentation, or knowledge content would be advantageous.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure, manage competing priorities, and maintain high attention to detail.
  • Fluent English, both written and verbal.
