We're partnered with a growing cyber security business that is investing heavily in its Security Operations capability and is looking to hire a Senior Security Operations Engineer to join an established, UK-based remote team.

This is more than a traditional SOC position. You'll be joining as a senior technical contributor with the opportunity to shape services, improve detection capabilities, influence tooling decisions, and help define the future direction of the SOC. The team has built a highly customised Microsoft security environment and is looking for someone who enjoys challenging the status quo, bringing new ideas to the table, and driving meaningful improvements.

With this being a newly created position, you'll have the chance to make a visible impact from day one while working alongside experienced security professionals in a collaborative and supportive environment.

The Role:
As a Senior Security Operations Engineer, you'll play a key role in the development and enhancement of security monitoring, detection, response, and automation capabilities.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing and enhancing Microsoft Sentinel and wider Microsoft Security technologies
• Leading the investigation and response to complex security incidents
• Developing and optimising detection rules, use cases and alerting capabilities
• Building automation and orchestration workflows to improve SOC efficiency
• Identifying opportunities to improve processes, tooling and service delivery
• Supporting ongoing SOC maturity initiatives and security engineering projects
• Working closely with internal teams to strengthen overall security posture
• Contributing ideas that help shape the future direction of the SOC

What We're Looking For:
We're interested in experienced Security Engineers or SOC Engineers who combine strong technical skills with a proactive mindset.

You'll ideally have experience with:

• Microsoft Sentinel
• Microsoft Defender security products
• Security Operations Centre (SOC) environments
• SIEM technologies and security monitoring
• Incident response and threat detection
• Kusto Query Language (KQL)
• Security automation and Scripting
• Security engineering and continuous improvement initiatives

Desirable certifications include:

• SC-200
• AZ-500
• AZ-104
