Are you an Assistant Accountant looking to develop your management accounting experience within a supportive and collaborative finance team?
I am recruiting on behalf of a well established charitable organisation in Glasgow that is looking for a proactive Assistant Accountant to join its Finance team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who already has a solid accounting foundation and wants to take greater ownership of month end, management accounts and financial reporting.
You will be joining a friendly and experienced finance team where you will have the opportunity to continue developing your skills while making a genuine contribution to the wider organisation.
The Role
Working closely with the Senior Management Accountant, you will be responsible for:
Supporting the preparation of monthly management accounts
Preparing profit and loss reporting across multiple locations
Calculating and processing accruals and prepayments
Preparing and posting journals
Supporting month end processes and financial reporting
Reviewing financial information and identifying discrepancies
Assisting with reconciliations and resolving accounting queries
Using Excel extensively for financial analysis and reporting
Communicating with colleagues across the wider organisation
Taking ownership of your workload and ensuring deadlines are met
What We Are Looking For
Strong Excel skills
A solid understanding of accruals and prepayments, including the ability to calculate these independently
Experience with profit and loss reporting
Experience preparing and posting journals
A good understanding of debits and credits
Strong communication skills
Excellent attention to detail
A proactive approach with the confidence to use your own initiative
The ability to work effectively as part of a team while also managing your workload independently
A genuine desire to learn and develop within finance
