Job Description

B2B SaaS | AI Product Innovation | Product Strategy | Product-Led Growth | Data & Analytics

Great product management isn't just about delivering features. It's about understanding customer problems, spotting commercial opportunities and bringing people together to build solutions that genuinely add value.

We're Actionstep, a fast-growing global LegalTech SaaS business delivering Legal Practice Management and Legal Accounting software to more than 50,000 customers, with 300+ people across the USA, Australia, UK, Canada and New Zealand.

As we expand our AI capabilities and create new opportunities for customer and revenue growth, we're looking for a Senior Product Manager, based remotely in the USA or Canada, to join our New Products team.

This is a hands-on role combining AI-powered product innovation with SaaS platform development and product-led growth, working closely with engineering, design, finance, support and commercial teams.

The Role

Your focus will span two important areas of our product strategy:

AI Innovation: Help evolve Trace, our AI-powered time capture product, and develop the capabilities that capture and surface activity across our platform to support intelligent workflows.

SaaS Platform & Product-Led Growth: Improve the systems behind customer licensing, module management and product provisioning, while creating opportunities for free trials, self-service upgrades and stronger customer adoption.

You'll:

• Own product discovery, strategy, roadmaps and delivery across your assigned products
• Develop AI-powered capabilities that solve real customer problems and deliver differentiated value
• Lead customer discovery, research, beta programmes and product launches
• Work closely with engineering, QA and design to translate opportunities into clear product requirements
• Collaborate proactively across Finance, Support, Sales and Product to solve cross-functional challenges
• Use analytics, dashboards and customer insights to guide priorities and measure product performance
• Identify opportunities to improve adoption, conversion and commercial outcomes
• Balance customer needs, technical complexity and business priorities to deliver meaningful improvements
• Take ownership of problems, challenge assumptions and keep initiatives moving forward

About You

You're an experienced SaaS Product Manager who combines commercial thinking, technical understanding and a genuine curiosity about how things work.

You enjoy getting into the detail, but you're equally comfortable stepping back to consider the bigger picture. You're analytical, proactive and confident working across departments, even when processes aren't perfectly defined.

Most importantly, you're someone who brings people together rather than working in a silo.

You'll bring:

• 5+ years' experience in B2B SaaS product management, ideally with enterprise or complex software products
• A proven track record of taking products or significant features from concept through launch
• Hands-on experience bringing AI-powered products or capabilities to market
• Strong product discovery, roadmap development, agile delivery and prioritisation skills
• Confidence working with product analytics, customer data and performance metrics
• Excellent cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management skills
• The ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to customers and colleagues
• Strong commercial judgement and a practical, solutions-focused approach
• The independence and initiative to navigate ambiguity and drive progress

Experience with product-led growth, SaaS licensing, subscription billing or self-service customer journeys would be particularly valuable.

Exposure to Salesforce, NetSuite, Notion, Azure DevOps, Pendo or Miro would also be advantageous.

LegalTech experience is welcome, but not essential. We're more interested in your product management capability, curiosity and ability to make things happen.

What Success Looks Like

You build a deep understanding of our customers, products and the commercial challenges we're solving.

You develop trusted relationships across Product, Engineering, Finance, Support and Sales, proactively connecting teams and identifying dependencies.

Your product decisions are supported by meaningful data, clear priorities and customer insight.

You help advance our AI capabilities while improving the infrastructure that makes our SaaS platform easier to adopt, manage and grow with.

And importantly, you deliver measurable value, not simply more features.

What We Offer

• 140,000–150,000 USD base salary
• Remote working across the USA or Canada
• Medical, dental and vision benefits
• 401(k) with company match (US)
• Flexible working and PTO
• Your birthday off
• Team-building events
• Training and professional development opportunities

You'll work with a predominantly North American product and engineering team, with occasional travel for customer visits, workshops and team collaboration. Some flexibility for meetings with our global customers will be required.

There is also room to grow, whether your ambition is to deepen your expertise as a senior individual contributor or progress towards broader product leadership.
