Finance Manager (Part-Time, Remote)Location: Remote (South East UK-based)
Working pattern: Part-time, flexible hours - 20 hours per week
Reporting to: Owner / Founder
We are supporting a growing, international not-for-profit organisation as they look to appoint an experienced Finance Manager on a part-time, fully remote basis. This is a broad, hands-on role providing financial leadership across the UK, USA and Australia, working closely with the retiring Finance Director, operational colleagues and external accountants.
This opportunity would suit a qualified or qualified-by-experience finance professional who enjoys owning end-to-end finance operations while working flexibly as part of a collaborative, values-driven business.
The roleYou will be responsible for the effective day-to-day management of finance operations, ensuring robust controls, accurate reporting and compliant processes across multiple territories.Key areas of responsibility include:
Overseeing purchase and sales invoicing, bookkeeping and reconciliations (working with internal teams and third-party accountants)Managing payments, expenses and credit control processesOwnership of UK payroll and payroll-related queriesReview and oversight of VAT (UK) and GST (Australia) returnsProducing monthly cash flow forecasts across all territoriesCoordinating year-end accounts and acting as the main point of contact for external accountantsPreparing consolidated quarterly financial summaries for board reportingManaging banking relationships, foreign currency exposure and insurance arrangementsProviding finance support and guidance to non-finance stakeholders
About youYou'll be a confident, self-sufficient Finance Manager, with excellent communication skills who are comfortable operating in a remote environment and working across international entities.
You are likely to bring:Proven experience in an SME Finance Manager or similar broad, hands-on finance roleStrong technical accounting knowledge and experience working with external accountantsPrevious exposure to multi-entity or international accounting environmentsSolid experience of VAT and cash flow managementConfidence working across systems (Xero experience is beneficial but not essential)A pragmatic, collaborative approach with the ability to explain finance clearly to non-finance colleagues
